8th International Day of Yoga was celebrated in school, The programme began with prayers by the Headmistress, Sr. Antonieta Colaco. This was followed by the lighting of the Lamp by the Headmistress, Sr. Antonieta, Primary Incharge Mrs. Sybil Rodrigues, P.E teacher Mrs. Carol Gomes, Headgirl Ms. Deseree da Costa Frias. A dialogue on significance of yoga was held between the sports captain Ms. Nijole Noronha and Asst. sport’s captain Ms. Dale Gomes. The school yoga team led the students and teachers to different postures of yogasanas and different formations and the Pranayam. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
To commemorate Yoga Day inter house yoga quiz competition was conducted for all the four houses i.e Gandhi, Tagore, Tilak and Naidu – There were four participants from each house.
The guest for the yoga quiz competition was our school Art and Craft Teacher Miss Amalia Nazareth who also has lot of knowledge of yoga and had attended yoga workshops. It was conducted by P.E teachers along with the school cabinet members
Our school children were invited by Directorate of Education with four teachers to participate for the 8th International day of yoga for a state level function which was held at Shyama Prasad Mukharjee stadium – Taleigao Plateau on 21st June 2022. 80 students participated in the same and performed yoga asanas, breathing excercises, meditation with more than 400 students from other schools in the presence of Honourable Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant and other dignitaries from different government departments.

International Yoga Day was celebrated in Primary section. Students of Std IV A and IV B participated. Teacher Vedika, Teacher Mumtaz an Teacher Annie organised it. Teacher Vedika explained the benefits and demonstrated Yogasanas as per common protocol programme. Students performed yogasana according to instructions.
