Goans were denied fundamental human rights under Portuguese rule. Thousands of freedom fighters fought against the Portuguese to liberate our beautiful land.
One of the most important days in the Goan Freedom Struggle is the 18th of June. The day marks the anniversary of the historic protest that took place in 1946 against the Portuguese colonial government’s oppressive policies. The protest was led by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, an Indian freedom fighter who called for a non-violent demonstration against the Portuguese regime.

The second part exhibits postal stamps and currency coins and notes of different countries of the world. Some of these date back to 400 – 500 years and are of historical importance.
